Anna

image of drawing of tour home for AnnaThis house was built in the early 1900s by Robert and Helen Alden in Anna. The second floor was destroyed by fire and not replaced. Mrs. Alden's father, J. Spann, along with C. Willard donated the land for Union Academy of Southern Illinois which is the site of the present-day AJCHS.


Dongola

image of drawing of tour home for DongolaThis home on the hill in Dongola was built in 1907 by the L.V. Snider family and sold to Dr. Ausbrook for the amount of $2,750.oo in May 1911. The site includes the 1900s barn, noted for its pulley system over the hayloft, where Dr. Ausbrooks kept his horse and buggy. The doctor's medical office, located just outside the house also remains intact.

Jonesboro

The 19th century farmhouse was built in 1872 by Willis J. Willard, who was the son of Willis Willard, one of the earliest and most successful merchants in Union County. Willis Willard was the brother of Anna Willard Davie, the wife of Winstead Davie, founder of Anna.
